A natural rock slab with the word "vegan" written in ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs together with a Tree of Life, the Ankh symbol, and a river.
Dimensions: 9cm in height, 5.5cm in breadth (broadest part). Painted with vegan and cruelty-free watercolours and varnish.
The ankh hieroglyph from ancient Egyptian culture (Bronze Age) had the meaning of life/health and was used as a beneficial symbol on its own that became very popular, even outside of Egypt. The Persea tree, native to Egypt (related to the South American avocado), was seen as sacred and often planted in front of temples and in gardens. The colours green and blue (and hence turquoise) were also symbolic of life, as they were associated with the water of the river Nile, which was the source of life for people settling in Egypt.
